I don't like sony anymore. I used to really like their cd player but now that they are getting so protective of there songs at the expence of their users. I am really agravated with sony and will not buy with them in the future.

Google Inc. said on Thursday it hired Internet pioneer Vinton Cerf to become its "chief Internet evangelist," the latest high-powered engineer to sign up at the Web search leader.
Cerf, 62, is widely known as the "father of the Internet" for his role in developing the TCP/IP standards that form the structure of the Internet.
He was hired away from telecoms company MCI Inc. and tasked with helping to develop new Internet applications for Google. MCI is in the process of merging into Verizon Communications Inc.

Microsoft Corp. on Monday released the test version of WinFS well ahead of schedule, according to the company.
The newly-released beta 1 edition of WinFS is a relational file system that can store documents, E-mail messages, photos and multimedia files, and structured data from applications in a common way.
WinFS will not be a part of the next version of Windows, Windows Vista, when it ships at the end of next year, but will be available to the operating system as an add-on release sometime in 2007, says Quentin Clark, director of program management for WinFS at Microsoft.
Microsoft is putting a lot of care into WinFS because the file system will drive Windows for a whole new generation of users, he says. "As a file system technology, it's important we get it right."
Over time, Microsoft plans to migrate the databases inside its own applications, such as Outlook, to WinFS. "Long term, we believe apps that contain their own data silos will be retooled for WinFS," Clark says. "Beta 1 is really the first step." Enditem

I don't know what Microsoft was thinking when they sued google but they must have not have been as smart as I thought they where because most of the people that use microsoft products use Google as well so it seeems kind of funny that they would try to sue them. That's just my opion the subject. Please comment if you feel diffrently then I do :)

Remote administration Trojans are pieces of malicios software, or malware, that let intruders remotely control computers across a network or through the internet.

Some especially nefarious Rats have been designed to install themselves in such a way that they're very difficult to remove even after they're discovered.

A new data brief from the Pew Internet & American Life project titled: The average American internet user is not sure what podcasting is, what an RSS feed does, or what the term “phishing” means, looks at the results of a just completed survey.
The results show only 9% of those surveyed had a "good idea" of what the term RSS means. 65% weren't sure and 26% had never heard of the term.
Only 13% of those surveyed had a "good idea" of what a podcasting is.
Those of us who watch the web, web tools, and web search closely (including myself) often forget that many of the things we talk about all day, everyday (and the services we use) still aren't even close to making it into the vocabulary or onto the desktops of the masses. This is so funny I have to stop and laugh. Haha heee LOL

Published reports that Microsoft is in discussions to purchase high-profile adware vendor Claria for as much as $500 million have set tongues wagging in the security sector, with analysts and vendors questioning the software giant's motives and whether the deal will actually occur.
Rumor or not, if the purchase were to occur, it would put Microsoft in the difficult position of needing to keep adware and spyware off of the desktop while working with adware technology.

I have found what I have been looking for for a while
A program that playes DVd's VCD's And many other popular and not so popular formats without codecs everything come with the player.
It's called Video Lan Client Don't let the name throw you off. It's does have a higher learning curve than Windows Media Player. But have alot more features that anything I have found plus it is skinable.
VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

A company synet has come out with software that when installed on a laptop. Can be used if the computer is stolen to track where it was taken to. The call the software SyNET nTracker
nTracker works with any type of Internet connection including dial-up, cable modem, DSL, T1 and wireless. It reecognizes and traces through both internal and external networks for LAN/WAN configurations to pin point actual location of the lost or stolen laptop.
Once installed runs invisibly on your laptop system, nTracker sends a stealth e-mail message containing it's exact location to a pre-determined e-mail address set by the owner. Each signal will contain all the required information on the status and physical location of your laptop. When the lost or stolen computer goes online it will send a stealth message to you containing information of its location using any Internet connection (Phone modem, Cable modem, DSL, ISDN, Corporate LAN, etc). Once this information is received, you can recover the lost or stolen property with help from law enforcement agency.

A printer prototype that can print 170 pages per minute. Ouch ! This is one fast printer. The way that they achieved this speed was to make the printer head so that it would be as wide as the page. It is made by Brother Co. I hope they get it out of prototype sone :)

I have always wanted a programming language that was easyier to understand than Visual Basic and easyier to use. So I did a search in Google and came up with The Leopard Programming Language. It is quite interesting and sort of follows the struture of Visual basic but easyer :)
